We play the slowest, spookiest, sweetest, swinginest old records we can find, and people dance real slow in a haze of smoke and dim red lights. It's a good time. Join us in the smoke filled dreamland that is SLOW GRIND FEVER for an evening of finger snapping rhythm 'n' blues, smoochy low-rider soul, jazzy popcorn, sultry slow-funk burners and uncategorizable moody melters, all sizzling off of antique discs brought to you by slow grind regulars Richie1250 and Aperol Ritz alongside Main FM's Steph Riddel and Ali T.

SLOW GRIND FEVER returns to our roots with an undergound (but upstairs) DIY BYO house party style affair above a picket fence shop in industrial Brunswick. For this special SLOW GRIND FEVER 1964-2024 EDITION, we have Richie1250, Earl Grey and Milo Eastwood rotating half hour slots all night long, with each DJ packing a nice 60 year span of sultry music to choose from.

​Richie1250 (Stone Love, PBS FM) teams up with 8CCC radio to bring SLOW GRIND FEVER: 1960 TO 1990 EDITION to Arrernte country, Saturday July 6 at The Black Wreath. Naarm's cult slow dance party hits Mparntwe for the first time with a mountain of antique vinyl discs and the hardest working smoke machine in showbiz. Enter the smokey dreamland and slow grind all night long. Doors and mood music at 8, 1960-1975 slow grinders from 9 to 11, 1975-1990 slow grinders from 11 to 1, and after 1 we'll mix it all together. It's a DIY / BYO affair at The Black Wreath, so bring what you need. See you in the smoke.

Sat Jun 29th SLOW GRIND FEVER slips into perhaps the sultriest decade of them all, 1969-1979, for the inaugral SLOW GRIND 70s. Bliss out in a puffy cloud of hot tub disco, honey-dripping lovers rock, adults-only AOR and torrid southern soul slow burners, all pitched to go straight to the hips. We've finally succeeded in a decade long campaign to get Northside Records / RRR icon Chris Gill behind the slow grind decks, and we can't wait to GET DOWN slow and low to his selections. This inaugral 70s editition also sees the return of DJ Jeepster, as well as Slow Grind 80s regular Brontesaurus Sex, who slayed the 70s set at last years special SLOW GRINDING THROUGH THE DECADES dance. For extra spice, we'll pepper the night with performance arté by slow grind dancefloor angel Chanelle Rogers and sultry chanteusing by Steph "Sugar Breath" Brett of Sugar Fed Leopards. It should be a night to remember.
